Studying at GERAD

GERAD is home to some 450 graduate students (Master’s, Doctoral and Postdoctoral). Each year, it also sees 150 students graduate at these different levels, covering all theoretical and applied area of data science.

Life at the Research Centre

Once administrative issues have been resolved, and following a request from their research director (a GERAD member), students can access all services at our Centre depending on their particular needs and availability:

  • Provision of an office;
  • Access to GERAD’s internal network (Internet account, computing grids, etc.);
  • Training courses (LaTex, scientific article writing, Python, R, etc.);
  • Internal fellowship competitions;
  • Potential contributions to research presentation trips;
  • Specialized library;
  • First experience of scientific publication through the Cahiers de recherche du GERAD;
  • Early notice of internships and job offers through our Job Offers section and our internal publications.

You can find news and information on events under the appropriate tabs on the research centre’s website, as well as in our information list sent by email to all our members and students.

In particular, you can find all the seminars, colloquia, training courses, grants and competitions as well as upcoming defences. The main events and honours affecting the life of the Centre are also highlighted there.

Graduation

All good things must come to an end, and GERAD also offers the option of presenting thesis or dissertation defences on its premises. Several members of the student community opt for this solution.
