Financial Partnerships

GERAD’s infrastructure is mainly funded by the Centre’s sponsoring institutions (HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, McGill University and the Université du Québec à Montréal) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT). The Institut de valorisation des données (IVADO) is involved through the funding of a research associate position as well as the position of director of valuation and transfer, and regularly contributes to the purchase of computer equipment.

Several departments linked to academic institutions contribute directly or indirectly, including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Science and the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, as well as the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal.

The research programs of GERAD members are funded by grants from several NSERC programs (Discovery, Strategic, Collaborative Research and Development), from FRQNT (Teams, New Researchers), from Mitacs (Acceleration) and from IVADO (Basic Research), as well as by programs at Quebec’s industrial research clusters (RSRI).

In addition, GERAD members regularly obtain research contracts from provincial and federal government agencies, as well as from private companies in Quebec, Canada and internationally.

University Partnerships

University partners are our members’ home institutions; they enable our members to participate in GERAD’s activities and are also involved in industrial research agreements when a member of their institution is involved.
