Maximum Number of Mutually Resonant Hexagons in Benzenoid Hydrocarbons

and

BibTeX reference

Many properties of benzenoid hydrocarbons can be explained in terms of their maximum number of mutually resonant hexagons. It is shown that this number can be determined by mixed-integer, and in practice, linear programming. Computational results for benzenoids with several hundred hexagons are reported on.
