Biographie : Dr. Richard (Rick) J. Caron joined the University of Windsor in 1983 after having earned his PhD in Mathematics (Dept. of Combinatorics and Optimization) from the University of Waterloo. He is a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics with cross appointments in Computer Science and Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. He is an adjunct research professor at Western University. He has served two terms as Dean of Science and two terms as Head of Mathematics and Statistics. He was founder and Director of the Operational Research Program from 2001 - 2012.
Dr. Caron is the winner of numerous teaching awards: A 2012-13 Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) teaching award, a 2012 University of Windsor Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching, a 2011 (inaugural year) Faculty of Science Roger Thibert Teaching Excellence Award, and Department of Mathematics and Statistics Teaching Awards in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
In 2012 he won the prestigious Practice Prize of the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) for the project, "A Network Model for the TDL Group Corporation"
