Courte biographie : Cees Withagen (1950) got his master’s degree (cum laude) at Tilburg University in 1974 in econometrics with a specialisation in mathematical economics. In 1984 he got his PhD degree (cum laude) also at Tilburg University . Currently, he is professor of environmental economics at VU University, Amsterdam, Department of Spatial Economics in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He is also fellow of Tinbergen Institute and CentER (Tilburg University).

Courte biographie : Maureen W. Murage is a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University, Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering with a concentration in Systems Engineering. She earned her Master’s degree in 2013 from Cornell University. She is interested in the analysis of wind energy integration in developing energy markets. More specifically, her work entails evaluating appropriate models to determine strategies that would advance the integration of wind power into the Kenya power system, as well as performing statistical analysis of the wind data from the region.
