Andreas Grothey, University of Edinburgh
Courte biographie : Andreas Grothey was born in Göttingen, Germany. Started studying Maths & Physics there. Went to Dundee, Scotland in 1994 for an MSc in Numerical Analysis (dissertation supervisors were Sven Leyffer and Roger Fletcher). After that PhD in Edinburgh (2001) on "decomposition methods for nonlinear, nonconvex problems" (supervisor Ken McKinnon). Couple of post-docs in Edinburgh with Jacek Gondzio. Lecturer in Edinburgh since 2005, Senior Lecturer since 2011.
Interests: Interior Point Methods (particularly warmstarts), Stochastic Programming, Decomposition schemes, High Performance Computing
