He is currently a Ph.D. candidate workign in optimization algorithms and optimization software development. In 2004 Julio C. Góez recieved a Master Degree in Industrial Engineerign at the University of los Andes, Bogota, Colombia. In 2002 he received his Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia. From September 2004 to July 2007 Julio C. Góez held the position of instructor at the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Los Andes. He was a summer intern at Argonne National Laboratory in 2009 and at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in 2008.
Julio C. Góez research interests focus principally in methodologies for solving Mixed Integer Conic Optimization (MICO) Problems. In particular, he investigates cuts generation methodologies for MICO problems. Currently he is working on the development of conic cuts for Mixed Integer Second Order Cone Optimization (MISOCO) problems. Additionally, he is developing a solver based on interior point methods for MISOCO problems.
