This presentation describes some recent research conducted in the Center of Transportation Studies involving a large North American time definite trucking company. We have been working on a variety of strategic analyses to enhance revenue for the carrier during the past few years. This has been a very dynamic period, both for this company and the trucking industry in general. The presentation will first provide some brief background on this company's business and operations. Then, I will discuss a methodology developed to help evaluate acquisitions of competing carriers by estimating the amount of business retained following the acquisition. Finally, I will describe some recent efforts to develop a simplified and more coherent pricing scheme.
