Maria Battarra, University of Southampton, UK
Short Bio: Dr. Maria Battarra completed a joint BS and MS degree program in Industrial Engineering at the University of Bologna, in 2005, and a PhD in Operational Research at the same University in March 2010, under the supervision of Prof. Daniele Vigo. In 2010, Dr. Battarra was appointed Assistant Professor at Kadir Has University (Istanbul, Turkey). Since October 2011, Dr. Battarra is a Lecturer at the Mathematics Department of the University of Southampton (UK). She has authored articles published in international books and journals in the field of Operations Research. She works mainly on exact and heuristic algorithms for variants of the Vehicle Routing Problem.
