Cofounded in 2014 by a former Olympic athlete, the Montreal start-up Sportlogiq specialises in sports analytics. Its cutting edge technology in machine vision, pattern recognition, data mining and reporting provide powerful new insights into player performance, which allow clients to formulation new game winning strategies.
The young company has big ambitions: to completely revolutionize the professional sports industry. As such, it has secured millions of dollars in investment, namely from well-known angel investors Tim Tokarsky and Mark Cuban. The start-up has even managed to convince an NHL franchise and recruit a former professional hockey player.
This talk will be given by Philippe Desaulniers, VP Engineering and Polytechnique and HEC Montréal alumus. He will discuss product development, challenges faced by the company as well as life within a start-up.
